Delve into the rich history and powerful nature of Gran Canaria by visiting the Old Town of Las Palmas, the Botanical Garden and the incomparable Caldera de Bandama.

Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from the meeting point in the south of Gran Canaria that you select and from here, we'll head north towards Las Palmas to go begin our guided walking tour of Vegueta, the historic center of the island's capital.

This area accommodates the city’s oldest buildings, including the striking Casa de Colón (Columbus House). This beautiful edifice is dedicated to Christopher Columbus and his voyages. You'll also stroll through the main square and explore the Cathedral of Santa Ana, the heart of Las Palmas. Then, visit other more modern constructions that are equally indispensable, including the Gabinete Literario, or the Pérez-Galdós Theatre, named after the world-famous Spanish writer born in Las Palmas.

After the walking tour, which will last around 20 minutes, you'll have 40 minutes of free time. Next, we'll make our way by coach towards Caldera de Bandama, where we'll make a short stop of around 15 minutes to take some photos. The fury of the volcanoes left us with this incredible crater measuring 1,000 meters wide and 200 meters deep. It'll take your breath away!

After admiring Caldera de Bandama, we'll continue the bus tour towards the Viera y Clvija Botanical Gardens. Here, you'll have 45 minutes to visit this botanical space, which is famous for its species brought from Macaronesua, the famous ecosystem formed by the Canary Islands, the Azores, Madeira and Cape Verde.

Finally, we'll take the bus back to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, where you'll be able to grab yourself some lunch. You'll also be able to visit the Poema del Mar aquarium. If you fancy it, you'll also be able to explore Las Canteras Beach, the Alfredo Kraus Auditorium and the Las Arenas Shopping Centre. Those who wish can stay in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and end the tour here.

With the rest of the group, we'll return to our original starting point in the south of Gran Canaria, where this day trip will come to an end after a total of 9 hours.

This day trip does not depart from the hotel area in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
On Saturdays, there will be no pickup service from Arguineguín, Patalavaca, Puerto Rico, Taurito and Mogán. If you wish to take part in the activity, you'll need to make your own way to the Parque Tropical hotel in Playa del Inglés.
