Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at Plaza del Mercosur, the starting point of our free walking tour of Puerto Norte, one of Argentina's most ambitious urban redevelopment projects. Here, we'll start learning about Rosario's old port and its strategic role in the country's export model. Ready to discover more about this neighborhood? Let's get started!
First, we'll discuss the redevelopment project and the famous paper boat sculpture, then head toward the old refinery, now the Forum Puerto Norte, one of Argentina's most modern urban redevelopment complexes. We'll talk about how this industrial structure was rehabilitated using adaptive reuse techniques, preserving original elements such as load-bearing walls and loading systems.
We'll continue the walk to the Puerto Norte Design Hotel, where we'll learn about the transformation of concrete silos into cultural spaces. Did you know their cylindrical structure was designed to optimize large-scale grain storage and transport?
During the tour, we'll also view contemporary developments like the Dolfines Guaraní and Maui towers—examples of modern vertical urbanism. We'll also walk through green areas such as Parque de la Arenera, where we will discuss the revitalization of the riverfront.
On the final leg of the tour, we'll pass through Parque Sunchales, enjoying stunning views of the Paraná River and its islands, before concluding at the MACRO Museum, home to an impressive mural and a classic Rosario cityscape view.
We'll say our goodbyes here after 1 hour and 40 minutes.
