Discover the flavours of Galician cuisine as you walk around the historic centre of Santiago de Compostela. Not only will you explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, but you'll also get to try delicious delicacies.
Food Tour of Santiago de Compostela
We'll meet in Praza do Obradoiro, ready to start our two-hour-long food tour around this beautiful Galician city. We hope you're hungry!
We'll admire some of the most emblematic monuments in the old town, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. We'll see the Pazo de Raxoi palace, the impressive Hostal dos Reis Católicos, the historical university building, Praza das Praterías and more.
After touring the historic district, we’ll stop at the Mercado de Abastos, where we can enjoy a drink and experience the local atmosphere in the best possible way. Plus, if you’d like to pair your drink with one of the delicious dishes offered at the market, don’t be shy! You can buy whatever you want on your own.
With that delicious taste still on our palates, we’ll take a guided tour of the Cathedral of Santiago, where we’ll learn about the rich history of this pilgrimage site on the Camino de Santiago.
To wrap up the tour in style, we’ll head to a traditional restaurant in the city center for a Galician lunch featuring the famous Betanzos omelet and a variety of small plates made with seasonal ingredients. Drinks include wine, water, or a soft drink. We’ll also serve you the most typical dessert from Santiago de Compostela. Can you guess what it might be?
Finally, after lunch, we’ll say our goodbyes and wrap up the activity 2 hours later.
